Giving Back
Bringing sight-saving surgery to people around the world.
Millions of people around the world are blind from corneal disease that a transplant could treat, but donor corneas and trained surgeons are scarce. Helping close that gap is one of my life's passions.
Keratoplasty Alliance International
I cofounded Keratoplasty Alliance International, a nonprofit that works to expand access to corneal transplantation and the supply of donor corneas where they're needed most. I serve as its Executive Vice President.

Research with a purpose
Some of my research focuses on making corneal transplants possible in more places. It includes studying the causes of corneal blindness worldwide, the use of long-lasting donor tissue, and the barriers surgeons face in India.
In our community
I've taught yoga to people who are visually impaired, and I serve on the Medical Advisory Board of the Lions Eye Institute for Transplant and Research.
